Ray Dummar | About

I studied photography at the University of Alaska Anchorage graduating with a BA in May of 2015. The interaction of humans and nature is usually the focus of my photography. I have created an implied relationship with the chair pictures taken along Alaskan highways. I also like to show where humans have left their mark on nature. The Alaskan chair pictures utilize a palladium/Platinum printing process. The process of palladium/platinum printing utilizes a negative created from a digital camera. The negative is created and printed out as large as the print it will create. The paper is hand coated and exposed using UV light for approximately 40 minutes. The print is then processed through the developer and multiple washes. The other prints utilize the same negative creation process but utilize silver gelatin photographic paper to print.
